AI/ML Policy
At Symply, we believe in building Artificially Intelligent features that are not only innovative and effective—but also ethical, secure, and respectful of privacy.
AI-Driven Innovation
Our platform integrates advanced AI tools to streamline and support the hiring process. These include features like intelligent content generation (e.g., job descriptions, candidate messaging), resume categorization and parsing, and interview summarization and insight generation. We leverage off-the-shelf, public generative AI models—such as OpenAI’s GPT and Google’s Gemini—to bring powerful automation to our customers while maintaining a strong privacy posture.
Ethical AI Development
At Symply, we are committed to the responsible development and deployment of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Our approach prioritizes fairness, accountability, and transparency across all AI-powered capabilities, ensuring technology is used to support and enhance human judgment—not replace it.
All AI features, including interview summarization and insight generation, are designed to assist hiring teams by providing actionable insights and streamlining workflows. Final hiring decisions are always made by humans, ensuring that critical employment choices remain under human oversight.
We continuously monitor our AI systems for accuracy, bias, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including NYC Local Law 144, Illinois AIVIA, and EEOC guidance, to maintain trust and fairness for both employers and candidates.
AI Compliance
Symply supports human-led decision-making at every stage. We do not currently use AI to score, rank, or make hiring decisions about candidates. Our approach complies with these regulations - NYC Local Law 144 of 2021 (Automated Employment Decision Tools), Illinois Artificial Intelligence Video Interview Act (AIVIA), Maryland HB1202 (Facial Recognition Services in Hiring) , California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) & California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), as well as other emerging AI transparency and fairness laws.
Transparent Use of AI
Transparency is foundational to how we deliver AI at Symply. We clearly indicate within the product when users are engaging with AI-powered features, so hiring teams and candidates always understand when automation is in use and give consent.
Data Sharing and Control
Some AI features may require sharing limited personal data with trusted third-party AI providers to function properly. Symply clearly discloses which features involve data sharing, and customers retain full control through feature-level opt-in settings accessible in the configuration page.
Data Usage and Retention
Symply does not use any customer data to train third-party AI models. We store and process data in alignment with our [Master Services Agreement] and [Data Privacy Addendum], and are subject to Google's privacy policy & OpenAI’s 30-day data retention policy when applicable.
AI Security Best Practices
All AI systems integrated into Symply’s applications are designed with a security-first mindset. We apply industry best practices in generative AI security, including input validation, access control, and data minimization, to ensure user data is protected at all times.
